

The Silent Woman – Wareham
Nestled in the heart of Wareham Forest in Dorset, this great pub until the 1920s the pub was known as The Angel, but after Thomas Hardy referred to it as ‘the Quiet Lady’ in his novel ‘The Return of the Native’, the pub changed its name to ‘the Silent Woman’. Today, the pub is a popular wedding venue, with a lovely garden gazebo and picturesque landscaped garden.
